From Vision to Masterpiece.

True mosaic art cannot be industrialised. Each table passes through five stages, guided by master artisans and engineered by NESS Furniture.

01

Design & Pattern Engineering

The journey begins with your vision. We translate your restaurant's identity, chef's philosophy, or personal motif into a precise mosaic pattern blueprint. Every tile placement is calculated for optical harmony at dining-table viewing distance. Multiple design iterations are standard — we don't stop until the pattern feels inevitable.

Material Selection & Precision Cutting

Materials are the soul of mosaic art. We source natural stone (marble, travertine, onyx, granite), Venetian glass, ceramic, and precious metals including 24K gold leaf. Each material batch is hand-selected for chromatic depth and consistency, then individually cut to ±0.3mm tolerance using diamond-tipped tools.

Hand-Setting the Mosaic — The Defining Stage

This is where the artist's eye cannot be replaced by machine. Master artisans hand-set each tesserae (tile piece) individually onto a prepared substrate. Spacing, angle, and depth are adjusted in real time to achieve the intended visual flow and light play. A single 1400mm round table contains approximately 12,000-18,000 individually placed tesserae.

The hand-setting process alone takes 160+ hours per table. This is not an assembly line — this is creation. Each artisan signs their work on the underside of the table.

Grouting, Polishing & Quality Verification

Food-safe, acid-resistant grout is applied in multiple passes to ensure complete fill without air pockets. The surface is then polished through progressively finer grades to achieve a finish that is both tactilely luxurious and practically cleanable.

Each table undergoes a rigorous inspection protocol: level check (±1mm across the surface), stain resistance test (red wine, citrus juice, olive oil, soy sauce), thermal shock test (hot plate to 80°C), and of course — the all-critical "pass your hand across the surface" sensory verification.

Substrate Engineering & Global Delivery

The engineered substrate is where NESS Furniture's industrial expertise shines. The mosaic surface is bonded to a warp-resistant, thermally stable core engineered for decades of service. The base is precision-leveled to eliminate wobble — a detail that separates art furniture from mass production.

Finished tables are packed in custom-built wooden crates with multi-layer foam isolation. We coordinate white-glove delivery to 60+ countries, managing customs clearance, insured transit, and on-site installation. Your table arrives ready to serve.

Engineered to Endure.

A restaurant table faces more abuse in one service than residential furniture sees in a year. Our tables are engineered accordingly.

  • Acid Resistance: Tested against red wine, citrus, vinegar, soy sauce
  • Thermal Stability: Hot plate tested to 80°C without surface damage
  • Warp Resistance: Multi-layer engineered substrate, humidity-tested
  • Level Precision: ±1mm across entire surface — no wobble, ever
